Feb 1. Kentucky Street Wear (Muhammad Qasim)
The University of Kentucky Entrepreneurship Club is happy to share a current member's business launch! Kentucky Street Wear, a Kentucky inspired street wear brand founded by Muhammad Qasim, has officially launched with 8 products ranging from t-shirts, sweaters, and pants! Qasim is a current PhD candidate studying computer science and is implementing his unique experience into a streetwear brand all Kentuckians will love! Nov 14. Startup Pitch Competition
The University of Kentucky Entrepreneurship Club hosted their Startup Pitch Competition on Thursday, November 14th at 5PM in Woodward Hall, Gatton College of Business & Economics. The event featured 6 participants with 5 judges compiled of local entrepreneurs and leaders. A prize pool of $1,000 was awarded by the Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship to fund 3 winners.
1st place ($500): "FlowTech", the innovative blood flow and oxygen monitoring technology led by Faezeh Akbari, Fatemeh Hamedi, and Pegah Safavi!
2nd place ($300): "DocAI", the startup that's revolutionizing patient discharge with innovative video technology led by Sarisha Lohano with Dushant Lohano!
3rd place ($200): "HelperHat", the hat with hands-free help when you need it, led by Wyatt Hench!
Honorable mentions:
"Sapphire", A modern Lesbian dating platform, where they put a ring on it, led by Timika Scarlett
"PRLZ", Cannabis extract you can trust! Led by Eli Gersony with Avery Nelson and Venky Suryadevara
"PillBox", A smart dispensing pill box for semi-dependent patients, led by Finn McCormack

Following the introductions the pitches got underway! We had great 10 minute presentations from each participant followed by invigorating questions from the judges. After pitches concluded, the judges met to decide the winners. It was a close decision, and all 6 participants were tight in scoring! Thank you to everyone who connected to make this event happen!
